ABOUT JOSIE ROGGENKAmp
Using her camera, Josie Roggenkamp captures the essence of rural living in the Midwest and focuses on preserving a way of life, as well as the bonds created by community and family. She was born in Onaga, Kansas in 2001 and was raised on a ranch in Blaine, Kansas, in the heart of the Flint Hills. She currently resides in Hays, Kansas. Roggenkamp studies at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas and will earn her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, with an emphasis in photography in 2025. Her biggest inspiration is her dad, a dedicated farmer, who worked hard to make sure his family was always taken care of. Her photo After a Long Day was featured in Ranchland Trust of Kansas Magazine in 2018, as part of the annual photography contest held by the organization. Josie also works on the family farm, spending quality time with her family. The family farm helped her to become a strong woman, to value hard work, family, and to roll with the punches.
